Web Services

The JBRJ Web Services provide programmatic access to taxonomic information maintained in Flora e Funga do Brasil. These services allow researchers, developers, and biodiversity information systems to query and integrate taxonomic data directly into external applications and automated workflows. The current API specification is available in OpenAPI/Swagger format. This interface is particularly useful for automated taxonomic name validation, retrieval of accepted names and classifications, and integration with other biodiversity information systems.

Reflora and Flora e Funga do Brasil IPT

The Reflora and Flora e Funga do Brasil Integrated Publishing Toolkit (IPT) provides access to Herbário Virtual Reflora and Flora e Funga do Brasil datasets published by the JBRJ in internationally standardized formats. The dataset is distributed as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), allowing users to download the data in a standardized and interoperable format widely used for biodiversity information exchange. This format is particularly suitable for bulk data access, large-scale analyses, reproducible research, and integration with national and international biodiversity infrastructures. The Flora e Funga do Brasil – Lista Oficial dataset is updated weekly.
